The fifth International Conference on Research and Learning of Physics (ICRLP 2022) is the annual event organized by Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Universitas Negeri Padang. The main objective of this conference is to provide a platform for academic scientists, researchers, research scholars, professionals practitioners, observers, teachers and students to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the fields of physics and physics learning. Therefore, it aims to be a forum for the discussion and exchange of ideas regarding our theme, “The Strategic Role of Physics and Physics Education Research in Supporting Sustainable Development Goals”.

The ICRLP has been successfully taking place since 2018 and is scheduled every year. ICRLP is one of the collaborative conference activities between Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Universitas Negeri Padang with Universiti Malaya, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris Malaysia, NTU Singapore, University of Indonesia and also with other domestic institutions. This conference activity is a scientific discussion that is given hybrid (offline and online) with material presented by speakers according to a predetermined theme. The ICRLP conference takes the form of seminars, as well as parallel presentations of presenters consisting of several sub-theme topics as below:
